what we do
Through Clothing Collective, your donations fund gift cards that people in need can exchange for clothes in our partner charity shops.
Through our gift card system, your donations provide clothing to people in need in a sustainable way and also helps to fund our charities shops partners own good cause too, enabling them to carry on their work in the community.

More than 1 in 5 people in the UK (22%) were in poverty in 2021/22 - 14.4 million people. This included:

8.1 million (or around 2 in 10) working-age adult

4.2 million (or nearly 3 in 10) children

2.1 million (or around 1 in 6) pensioners
We can see from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Destitution in the UK report (published 23 January '24) that around 3.8 million people experienced destitution (where they could not afford to meet their most basic physical needs to stay warm, dry, clean and fed) in 2022. This included around one million children. These figures have more than doubled since 2017. There is further evidence of deepening poverty in the increasing numbers of people using food banks, with more emergency parcels being delivered by the Trussell Trust network than ever before.
